How is it different from the other summarizers?
Most of them rent you someone else’s AI, so they need your key or a separate account. Ebutia asks YouTube’s own AI instead, and that changes how it feels to use.

Questions
Do I have to open the video?
No. Ebutia puts a summarize button on every thumbnail: search results, your feed, channel pages. Point, press, read. You find out whether a video is worth twenty minutes before giving it any.
Do I need an API key or an account?
Neither. There’s nothing to paste, nothing to configure, no second account to create. Ebutia asks YouTube’s own AI, the one already built into the page, so it works the moment it’s installed.
What if a video can’t be summarized?
Ebutia tells you honestly, and offers to hand the video to your favourite chatbot instead. ChatGPT, Gemini and more can pick it up, so you still get your answer.
Do I need to be signed in to anything?
Signed in to YouTube, which you almost certainly already are. That’s how the summary gets generated on the page. Ebutia itself has no account.
Does it work on every video?
It needs a video with captions, which is most of them. When a summary isn’t available, Ebutia says so plainly instead of guessing, and can hand the transcript to a chatbot of your choice.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Firefox, and the browsers built on them. Brave, Edge, Opera and Arc install the Chrome version; Zen, Floorp and LibreWolf install the Firefox one. Safari isn’t supported yet.
What happens to my data?
Your summaries and settings stay in your own browser. You can clear them at any time from the extension’s settings.
